Welcome to Our Blog

Students, families, and friends: welcome to Stratford Biotechnology’s student-run blog! Posts will be written entirely by students, with seniors in charge of blog management and photography. They will feature some of the awesome experiments and discussions which take place in our classes at every grade level so that we can all stay connected.

For those of you who are new to the program, I am Ms. Price, and this is my fifth-year teaching BioSTEM at Stratford. I have a wide range of experience which culminates in my leading this program. Previously, I worked in a drug-interactions testing facility, as a teaching assistant in a college pre-med Human Anatomy and Physiology lab with cadavers, as the educational outreach specialist at a park and at an agritourism attraction, as a researcher in a reptile behavior and physiology lab, and as a technician in a reptile ecology lab.

I received my Bachelor’s in Science with a focus in Biology from Austin Peay State University, Master’s in Science with a focus in Biology from Indiana State University, and am currently completing my last semester for my Master’s in Education at Lipscomb University. One of my favorite parts of this job is preparing students for college and careers, especially those who are interested in science. I am so excited to begin this new year with you all!

Sincerely,

Ms. Price

How Bio STEM prepares you for your future

Gracias!

The leadership in BioSTEM

What is leadership? A leader is somebody whom people follow. A leader has authority; For people to accept a leader, his or her leadership must therefore be legitimate. What does it mean to be a leader? Being a leader means that you accept all of your responsibilities for the position you’re taking. In BioSTEM III we now take on jobs, which means we all have responsibilities. For example, as a blog manager it is my responsibility to make sure everything is in check, without a blog manager there would be several mistakes not fixed. Having responsibilities in this class will help some people earn job experience.
